Fox Indians
Fox Indians, an Algonquian tribe that once lived in Wisconsin around the Fox River and Lake Winnebago. They were driven south about 1746 by French traders allied with the Chippewa, Potawatomi, and Menominee Indians. About 1780, the Fox were nearly annihilated by the Chippewa. The few survivors joined the Sac. The Sac and Fox were given reservations in Iowa and Kansas.
