Louisiana Purchase Exposition

Louisiana Purchase Exposition, an exposition held in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1904. It was also known as the St. Louis World's Fair. It celebrated the 100th anniversary of the purchase by the United States of the French province of Louisiana. There were exhibits from 41 states and 53 nations. The ice cream cone, iced tea, and the hamburger were introduced to the American public at the fair. Total attendance was more than 19,000,000.
