Ona Indians
Ona Indians, a tribe of Indians of Tierra del Fuego, at the southern tip of South America. The Onas had a very primitive culture. They depended entirely on wild foods, especially guanaco (an animal closely related to the llama and alpaca), which they hunted with bow and arrow. Those near the coast also ate seafood. Few of the Onas survived following the arrival of white settlers in the 19th century.
