Jehoshaphat, in the Bible, a king of Judah; reigned 875?–851? B.C. He made religious and political reforms, and under him Judah enjoyed prosperity and won the respect of other countries. Judah made peace with Israel, the northern Hebrew kingdom. The account of Jehoshaphat is told in I Kings 22 and II Chronicles 17–20.
