Livy

Livy, or Titus Livius, a Roman historian. He was born in Patavium (now Padua), Italy, but spent most of his life in Rome. Livy's life work was The Annals of the Roman People, a history of Rome from the city's legendary founding in 753 B.C. to 9 A.D. Only 35 of the 142 books remain, covering the years 753–293 and 218–167. Livy has been much admired both in ancient and modern times for his intense patriotism and excellent writing, but his work is often inaccurate.
