College Station, Texas, a city in Brazos County, in east-central Texas. Wholesale and retail trade and Texas A & M University provide most of the city's jobs. Texas World Speedway, a major automobile racetrack, is nearby. College Station grew around Texas A & M University, which was founded in 1876. The city was incorporated in 1938.
