Moncton Canada, a city in New Brunswick. Moncton is 80 miles (130 km) northeast of Saint John, and is on the Petitcodiac River. “The Bore,” a tidal wall of water sometimes five feet (1.5 m) high at Moncton, rushes up the river from the Bay of Fundy twice a day. Moncton is a transportation center and a manufacturing city. The University of Moncton is here. Moncton was settled in the 1760's.
