Geography of Adana
Adana, Turkey, the country's fourth largest city and the capital of Seyhan Province. It is on the Seyhan River, about 240 miles (385 km) south-southeast of Ankara. It is an agricultural trading center. Manufactured products include tobacco goods, cotton textiles, processed foods, and agricultural machinery.
Adana was an ancient Hittite town that flourished under the Romans and then declined. The city's vitality was restored under the Muslims, beginning in the late eighth century.
