Geography of Kathmandu

Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. The city is on the Baghmati River between ranges of the Himalaya Mountains midway between India and Tibet.

Some of the city's many Hindu and Buddhist temples have beautiful wood carvings. Other impressive buildings are the palaces of the ruler and prime minister. Kathmandu was founded about 723 A.D.
