Trop Chop: A Chopper Profile

Chip Miyler of Midwest Choppers has earned a reputation for highly detailed, well-built choppers, and the Trop Chop is yet another testament to his many talents.

Motorcycle Image Gallery

A stretched Midwest Choppers frame positions the neck two inches up and five inches out, setting the extended American Suspension forks at a 48-degree rake. A rear swingarm with suspension by Progressive adds some comfort to the style.

Not willing to build an all-show, no-go chopper, Chip employed a 124-cubic-inch S&S engine for motivation. Matching Xtreme Machine rims host HHI disc brakes, and in back, a 280-mm tire.

But the real artistry of Trop Chop lies in the flowing bodywork and eye-catching paint scheme. Every inch of sheet metal is of Chip's own creation, and the tropical scenes by Jeremy Imming detail underwater life in amazing imagery employing nearly every color of the spectrum. It all flows together to help cement Midwest Choppers' reputation as one of the country's premier builders.
