1956-1957 Nash Metropolitan Series 56 1500

Introduced during mid-model year 1956, the 1956-1957 Nash Metropolitan Series 56 1500 was a revised version of the Nash economy runabout. Features included a larger engine and more horsepower, plus a larger clutch, different paint treatment, Z-shaped bodyside moldings, and a new mesh grille bearing either Nash or Hudson emblems according to the selling dealer. The imitation hood scoop of the previous Met was erased.

Top speed went from 70 mph to 80, making the Met somewhat more suitable for higher-speed American driving conditions. It continued to be sold by AMC through 1962, though production ended in mid-1960.
