1959 Edsel Ranger Hardtops
The 1959 Ranger four-door sedan set the Edsel production record for a single model -- 12,814 units. This, of course, makes it comparatively plentiful today. But it's the scarcer 1959 Edsel Ranger hardtops that should concern the collector.Cars of the 1950s Image Gallery

Less elaborately trimmed and equipped than the Corsairs,
they were available with a delete-option six, Ford's well-known 223-cid unit,
as well as a standard 292 V-8. The Corsair's standard 332-cid powerplant and
the carryover 361 V-8 were also offered, though seldom ordered.

Pluses of the 1959 Edsel Ranger Hardtops:
- Priced less than the 1959 Edsel Corsair
- Less unique appearance than the '58, but possibly more successful
- Most models still in good supply
Minuses of the 1959 Edsel Ranger Hardtops:
- Slower to appreciate and less luxurious than the 1959 Edsel Corsair
- Less distinctively "Edsel" than the '58s
- Won't ever appreciate as much, either, though convertibles aren't all that cheap now
Production of the 1959 Edsel Ranger Hardtops:

- 4-door hardtop: 2,352
