Nilgai, Nylghau, or Blue Bull, the largest antelope of Asia. It is found on the savannas and in the open forests of India and Iran. The bulls are about 4 ½ feet (1.4 m) high at the shoulder; the cows are slightly smaller. The cows and young bulls are reddish brown, but many of the older bulls are bluish gray on their backs. Both sexes have manes. The bull has forward-curving horns, eight to nine inches (20 to 23 cm) long, and a long tuft of hair on its throat.

The nilgai is Boselaphus tragocamelus of the family Bovidae.
