Chaffinch
Chaffinch, a European bird with a pleasant, whistling song. It is often kept in a cage as a pet. The male has a bluish-gray cap, reddish-brown back, and reddish breast. The bird is about six inches (15 cm) long. It eats insects, grain, and weed seeds.
The chaffinch is Fringilla coelebs of the family Fringillidae.
