Lory
Lory, a member of a large family of parrots of Australia and the South Pacific islands. The lory, unlike other parrots, has a bristle-tipped tongue with which it laps nectar. There are about 90 species of lories, ranging from 4 to 20 inches (10 to 50 cm) in length. The smaller species are commonly called lorikeets.
Lories belong to the family Loriidae of the order Psittaciformes.
