Benzine
Benzine, a colorless, flammable liquid obtained by the distillation of petroleum. It is a mixture of hydrocarbons, much like gasoline and naphtha, and, unlike the similarly named benzene, has no definite chemical formula. The vapors of benzine, when mixed with air, are highly explosive. Benzine is used as a solvent and in the manufacture of such products as drugs, dyes, and paints.
