Mayweed, or Dog Fennel, a strong-scented annual weed native to Europe. It is common in wastelands and along roadsides in North America. The branching stem, about two feet (60 cm) high, bears lacelike leaves and small, single flowers with yellow disks and white petals.

The mayweed is Anthemis cotula of the composite family, Compositae.
