Inkberry
Inkberry, an evergreen shrub that bears small, black berries. It is among several species in eastern North America that are sometimes called winterberries. It ranges from four to eight feet (1.2 to 2.4 m) in height. Its oblong, leathery leaves, slightly notched at the tips, remain green until late autumn. The flowers are small and whitish.
The inkberry is Ilex glabra of the holly family, Aquifoliaceae.
