Flexibility
Flexibility, the property of a substance that enables it to bend without breaking. Flexibility differs from elasticity, which is the property that enables a substance to recover its original shape after it has been stretched, squeezed, or bent. A piece of string is flexible but has little or no elasticity. A spring is both flexible and elastic. Window glass, at ordinary temperatures, is neither flexible nor elastic.
