Scented Jewelry: Relaxation & Fragrance Without Sprays | [Your Brand Name]

Can scented jewelry help you relax?

Can scented jewelry help you relax?

Love the smell of perfume but can’t use it on your sensitive skin? Then welcome to the world of scented jewelry, which gives you a light fragrance without spritzes or sprays; instead, you’ll have a light, fresh fragrance that follows you wherever you go (without being overwhelming). An added bonus: If you choose the right scent, your jewelry can be as good for your mood as it is for your style sense.

How it Works

Most pieces of scented jewelry get their fragrance from small beads, which are strung on a cord to make a necklace or bracelet, or else put into a locket, pendant, or earrings. In some cases, the beads are filled with the perfume (and so can also be refilled once the scent wears off); in others, you’ll use a dropper to put a little bit of the fragrance onto the bead itself.

Popular Scents

As with perfume, scented jewelry comes in a wide variety of scents and blends. Lisa Hoffman Beauty offers bracelets in combinations that include agarwood, bergamot, ginger and amber; jasmine, peony, and orchids; and sage and cotton. Etsy shop Scentings sells literary-inspired fragrances like Elizabeth Bennet (with lavender, sage, and ylang ylang) and Miss Marple (which includes cotton, lavender, and lilac). At Vessel, options range from vanilla orchid – a blend of orange blossoms, ylang ylang, lily, and amber – to cucumber green tea with lime, honeydew, and cassis.

Jewelry and Aromatherapy

Since the perfumes are blended, you often won’t get the exact same aromatherapy benefits that you would get from a whiff of pure lavender oil or a spray of straight citrus scent. However, if you refill the beads with a scent of your choice, you could recreate your favorite aromatherapy treatments. If you’re wearing your bracelet for a big meeting, try scenting it with lavender and clary sage to lessen anxiety; for the week before your new business opens, choose bergamot, geranium, and frankincense to decrease stress; and if you need an extra boost of energy to get through the school pickup/homework/dinner/bedtime hours, look for grapefruit and ginger.
