Mayapple
Mayapple is an American native, which makes is particularly useful in a habitat garden. At 12-18 inches, it does well in a woodland setting with moist soil, where it will naturalize.
Deeply lobed leaves emerge in spring folded in umbrella fashion. After they spread out, white flowers appear and are followed in autumn by rounded fruits.
