Concrete Pavers for Patio

Acid Staining Concrete PaversMaterials:

• 2x2 Concrete Pavers
• Latex Gloves
• Garden Sprayer
• Cloth rags
• Acid Stain - neutral color
• Acid Sealer
• Garden hose with nozzle
• Powdered soap
• Plastic - to lay pavers on while staining

Instructions:

1. Lay pavers out on plastic  in a well ventilated area.
2. Clean surface of pavers with soap and water.
3. Allow to dry.
4. Put latex gloves on.
5. Use garden sprayer to apply acid stain to pavers.  Finish process one paver at a time.
6. Rub stain in using cloth rag.
7. Allow to dry.
8. Rinse with water using garden hose.
9. Allow to dry.
10. Apply acid sealer
11. Allow to dry
12. Your pavers are now ready to be installed.

Installing Concrete Pavers

Materials:

• 2 x2 Concrete Pavers
• Rounded Spade
• Piece of pipe - 4 inches long
• Roto-tiller
• Amended  Soil
• Fertilizer
• Sod
• Garden Knife

Instructions:

1. Prep yard as you would for laying sod.
2. Roto-till native soil 4 to 6 inches  deep.
3. Add amended soil, roto-till in with native soil.
4. Lay out pavers  in desired pattern.
5. Use rounded spade to excavate for pavers.  Deep enough to allow the paver to still rise a couple inches above the ground so it will be level with the sod.
6. Place pavers in dug out areas.
7. Use the 4 inch piece of pipe to make sure all pavers are evenly spaced.
8. Even out and tamp down the soil around all the pavers.
9. Now it's time to lay the sod between the pavers.
10. Distribute fertilizer between all pavers.
11. Line sod up with pavers.  Use knife to cut the sod out around each paver.
12. Push the sod down so the roots come in contact with the roto-tilled soil.
13. Generously water for two weeks to give roots chance to attach to soil.
14. Continue to water everyday.
