What can I do about high blood pressure symptoms?

High blood pressure may or may not cause symptoms. But over time it can lead to hardening of the arteries, called atherosclerosis. This, in turn, can lead to heart disease, heart attack, stroke, and peripheral vascular disease. If you develop atherosclerosis, you may have chest pain or tightness called angina. You may also have other symptoms of heart disease, such as shortness of breath, weakness, or dizziness. You can also have a heart attack or stroke without having had any of these symptoms beforehand.
