Caractacus, (in Celtic, Caradoc), a British chieftain who lived in the first century A.D. He was the son of Cymbeline, the chief ruler of Britain. Caractacus fought the Romans for nine years, but was finally defeated in SO A.D. He was captured and taken to Rome; he died in captivity.
