The Sulu Sea
Sulu Sea, an arm of the Pacific Ocean between the Philippines and Borneo. It is almost enclosed by islands, and extends some 450 miles (720 km) north-south and about 400 miles (640 km) east-west. Parts of the sea are more than 15,000 feet (4,600 m) deep. Depths along the margins, however, are quite shallow—in many places less than 600 feet (180 m).
