Aggression: A Chopper Profile

Aggression got off to a rocky start. Begun as a customer order that fell through, Chip Miyler at Midwest Customs decided to complete the chopper project on his own.

A swingarm frame with rear suspension by Progressive mounts 8-inches-over inverted forks at a 51-degree rake. Extreme Machine wheels at both ends feature fine detailing. In front, the brake rotor matches the wheel design; in back, the pulley -- which overlays the brake rotor -- does the same.

Power comes from a 124-cubic-inch S&S engine polished to a show finish. Air enters through a Midwest Choppers air cleaner, exiting via a Martin Bros. exhaust system.

Elaborate sheetmetal work features a silver spine running from front fender to rear, bisecting the deep purple paint. An aggressive scoop is formed into the base of the frame's downtube, while both fenders wrap deeply around the tires.

As it turned out, six months of toil were required to complete the build, but a Best Radical Custom trophy at a show in Indianapolis made it all worthwhile. Aggression may have started on a low note, but certainly finished on a high one.

Note the serrated edges on the engine's cooling fins, a rare custom touch. Also unusual are the small lights frenched into the rear section of the swingarm.
