1950-1955 Porsche 356 Pictures and Specifications
The Porsche 356 was the first volume-production Porsche. This first-generation of Porsche's classic rear-engine sports-car design went on sale in 1950 and continued through 1955.
The Porsche 356 had a simple, rounded form that's stood the test of time.
The Porsche 356 used an air-cooled engine with roots in a Volkswagen design.
Highly functional and very well-built described the Porsche 356, inside and out.
The Porsche 356 Speedster had a racy cut-down windshield and cost $3,500.

1956-1959 Porsche 356A Pictures and Specifications
The second-generation Porsche, the 356A, boasted increased horsepower, improved suspension, and a new four-speed gearbox. The classic Porsche 356A was produced between 1956 and 1959.
Unlike earlier models, the Porsche 356A featured a one piece-windshield.
The Porsche 356A was lauded for its improved handling and tractability.
The Porsche 356A Speedster was a jaunty drop-top classic.
Gold script helped distinguish the potent twincam Carrera GS (Grand Sport).

1960-1963 Porsche 356B Pictures and Specifications
High-set bumpers and enlarged windows marked the production Porsche 356B introduced for 1960. Despite steadily rising sales demand, Porsches were still built patiently and largely by hand, including the 356B, which was sold until 1963.
This 1963 Porsche 356B was one of the last 356Bs built.
The Porsche 356B offered three engines, including this 90-horsepower Super 90.
Porsche cockpits were considerably more lavish by 1963.
A power sunroof became optional on the 1962 Porsche 356B.

1964-1965 Porsche 356C Pictures and Specifications
The Porsche 356C was the last version of the 356 line. It's two-year production run ended in 1965. There were few visual differences for this third generation 356, but plenty of under-the-skin improvements.
Flat-faced hubcaps were one way to identify a 356C from earlier 356s.
A 356C equipped with the 95-horsepower Super engine earned an SC badge.
The twincam Carrera four was a racing engine adapted for street use.
