Candlefish

Candlefish, or Eulachon, an edible saltwater fish found in Alaskan waters. It is 12 to 18 inches (30 to 45 cm) long. When dried and pierced with a rush or strip of bark, the fish can serve as a candle.

The candlefish is Thaleichthys pacificus of the family Osmeridae.
