Nutcracker
Nutcracker, the common name for a genus of birds of the crow family. The birds, which are about 12 inches (30 cm) long, are found in mountainous evergreen forests. There are two species—one native to North America, the other to Europe and Asia. For information on the North American species, The Eurasian species is dark brown, heavily speckled with white. It has black wings, a black tail, and a long, heavy, black bill with which it cracks open nuts and conifer seeds.
The Eurasian nutcracker is Nucifraga caryocatactes of the family Corvidae.
